Molybdenum Carbide ( Mo2C) Nanopowder General Description
An extremely hard refractory ceramic material used in commercial cutting tool bits and other applications where it’s exceptional high melting point, resilience, and other properties are beneficial. The material shares much in common with tantalum carbide and niobium carbide, which are used similarly. SSNano offers Molybdenum carbide powder/MoC powder at 99% purity with particle sizes of about two or three microns.

Molybdenum Carbide ( Mo2C) Nanopowder Applications

  • High-stress components: Certain components subject to extreme wear and heat are produced from molybdenum carbide, such as tool bits for commercial cutting devices, turbine blades, and other similar surfaces.
  • Compound materials; As with related carbides, molybdenum carbide is widely used as an additive for different compound materials and alloys, imparting durability, heat resistance, and various unique metallurgical properties to the final product.
  • Coatings: Like many carbide powders, molybdenum carbide powders can be applied through various processes as a fine coating. The exceptional sturdiness of the material allows it to be used this way even in the extremely high-stress environments. Molybdenum carbide acts as a refractory coating as well as protecting against abrasions and sliding contact.
If you’d like to ask more about molybdenum configurations, handling, or ordering, you should call SSNano today.
